Commissioned by the NUS Office of University Communications, this collection presents five bronze miniatures inspired by traditional feng shui amulets. Designed by Lin Qiuxia, the
Ji Jian Wu Collection offers a contemporary interpretation of Chinese cultural heritage, exploring the symbolic relationship between individuals and their environment through the lens of feng shui.
Each amulet embodies a distinct virtue. Qi Lin, a mythical chimaera, heralds wisdom and good fortune. Pi Xiu, a winged lion, serves as a guardian of wealth and souls. Jin Chan, the three-legged golden toad, represents prosperity. Ma, the noble horse, symbolises perseverance and success. Hu Lu, the calabash gourd, is a talisman for health and protection.
The miniatures are housed in a maple wood box with a paper sleeve and gold foil card insert, presented in a customised paper bag, designed to complement the collection’s cultural significance.
